There are two ways to pursue knowledge.
One way is measured by credentials earned; awards presented, speaking opportunities offered, and books placed on bestseller lists. Knowledge is an asset to be exploited.
The other way is measured in curiosity, joy, and an insatiable desire to understand the world in all its connectedness. In this sense, knowledge is joy and satisfaction.
Aksinya Samoylova, my guest on this episode of The Eddy Network Podcast, is passionate about knowledge in the second sense. It has led her into the study of polymaths. She is the author of the book "Why Polymaths?" that examines the complex nature of polymathy (multi-specialization) in both historical and contemporary contexts within work and education.
