As a child of the 1960s, I grew up listening to the radio. Record players and portable radios and cassette players were all we had to listen to our music.
WTOB was my station. It was a TOP 40 station, which today would be considered Classic Rock. My high school Buddy Ken Hauser is involved with the current iteration of WTOB. We began to talk about doing a locally oriented podcast with the radio station as its home base.
Ken introduced me to Bob Scarborough, general manager of the station. Over several months we talked about how this might work. When I started The Eddy Network a couple of months ago, I had Bob on my list to interview to kick off the local edition of the podcast.
In our conversation with talk about a range of things related radio, news, and community. The second local podcast from Winston-Salem will be with Mike Foster, Executive Director of the Winston-Salem Street School. His episode will appear Thursday, April 13.
Now, let’s check in with Bob Scarborough of the WTOB Good Guys.
