Ideas like my Circle of Impact model live in the world of abstractions. Some abstractions are clear, others are obscure. The trick is providing a way for the abstraction or the model to have a practical connection to the real world.
To cross over to the world of the concrete requires a tool that let’s us apply the knowledge of the abstraction in the real world. This is why the Five Question That Everyone Must Ask was created.
The questions focus on five pieces of information.
The content of change.
Change as a demonstration of impact.
Who are the people impacted by this change?
Opportunities that are derived from change.
Identifying problems and obstacles to achieving our desired impact.
The video here describes the process of asking these questions.
The other videos in the series build upon this perspective. They are available to view on my YouTube channel. I have been posting a video with a comment on Fridays.
If you have questions or want to discuss how the Circle of Impact can benefit your team or organization, please reach out to me at ed@edbrenegar.com. I’ll be glad to produce additional videos for this series. Thank you.
