Manuel Lima, writer and designer, has just released his fourth book, The New Designer: Rejecting Myths, Embracing Change. I like it very much. It is essentially a book about how designers are leaders of impact in the world.
I first met Manuel almost a decade and a half ago as he gave a presentation on the visualization of networks. This video captures the material he shared with us that day.
Manuel’s insight into networks illustrated what I had been seeing, but never to the degree he was describing. Soon after, his book Visual Complexity: Mapping Patterns of Information was released, and I snapped it up as quickly as I could. I have followed his work ever since. I am pleased to have him on The Eddy Network Podcast.
