Networks of Relationships in Practice
Developing our Networks of Relationships are a critical strategy for managing a world in transition. Here is how networks serve my work.
I have written a lot about Networks of Relationships. I have much more to say. However, I felt that it was time to shift from text to video to describe some of what I am doing and how a networks of relationships strategy fits in.
I have operated all my life, since childhood by trying to expand my network of relationships. My attitude is that once we know one another, we know one another for life.
I believe this to be true because I see the order of the world as one giant network of people, places, and situations in relationship. This perspective moves away from that which basically sees us as instruments in a colossal mechanistic system. I don’t believe to be accurate, much less sustainable as a system of order. Here, then, is how networks of relationships inform the specific things that I do.
Let me reiterate what I say in the video.
I am interested in meeting people that you know,
that you respect,
that you trust, and
that you think I should know.
They need to be people who are taking initiative,
by creating programs and organizations, that
are having an impact in their community.
It helps that they speak English. If they don’t, then help me find someone who can translate for us while we conduct the interview.
If you would introduce me to them, I will have an initial conversation to help me understand who they are and whether they are a good candidate for being interviewed.
