One of the lessons I gained in my first years as a consultant concerned the nature of change and risk. The prevailing notion was that change was risky, and no change was always preferable. I came to see risk from four different perspectives: Resistant, Adaptible, Initiating, and, for lack of a better way to describe it, a “Change Junkie.”
The greatest risk we face is the inability to see how the forces of change are actually operating. In particular, how they are operating through people who are, in the words of Parissa Behnia, Bad Asses.
Our conversation on this episode of The Eddy Network Podcast isn’t really about badass people as some archetype or caricature. Rather, it is about people who are disrupters, change agents, and creative people who themselves are in the midst of change or transition.
As a disrupter and change agent, I learn some new things about myself that will help me as I continue learn to be a badass.
Welcome Parissa. So glad to have you on the show.
