In a very real sense, all creative endeavor is a form of biography. My post, ICYMI: How I Got Here tells a part of my story. My Background video released on my 70th birthday, The Third Half of Life, tells more of it.
Recently, I was interviewed by Mike Henry, Sr., one of my podcast guests on his Follower of One podcast. Here you’ll hear more of my background as a man of faith and how that orientation has impacted the way I look at leadership, people, organizations, and society.
I have rarely shared it publically because to speak of faith is a form of proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the type of statement that many people feel is like drawing a line in the sand to separate people into two camps. My faith is far more ancient than modern. In many respects, my perspective captured by The Spectacle of the Real applies to the modern institutional forms of the church.
To better understand my spiritual/theological orientation, I suggest your read the posts that I have recently written, Jesus and The Spectacle of Christmas and Jesus and The Spectacle of Faith: A Three-Part Series.
Over the past year and a half, your response to my work, both with The Future of Leadership Substack and The Eddy Network Podcast, has been very gratifying. In this background video, I restate my purpose for doing this work and my appreciation to you for your comments and kind thoughts.
What’s Coming?
The number of subscribers has grown well this year. I realized a few weeks ago that most of you who are new, never had the benefit of reading the posts from last year. For this reason, I began the ICYMI series. I have planned for almost every day July through September to post an essay from last year. Your response already has shown that this was a good move.
If you wish to financially support my efforts here, you can do so by either subscribing here.
Please share with your friends, family, and colleagues. And if you know someone that you think would be a good guest for the podcast. Let me know.
Thank you for your appreciation.
