For the twenty years I was an organization consultant, the number #1 problem I found was communication. The basic assumption was that communication was distribution of information to people and institutions.
“Didn’t you get my email?” was a common complaint. In these situations, we weren’t communicating because we were not talking to one another. We are talking past one another to gain leverage and influence. It is how marketing has taken over human communication. And this is the crux of the challenge that we face today.
Robert Poynton has addressed this problem in his new book in the Do series called Do: Conversation. I invited Robert to join me on The Eddy Network Podcast because conversation is the central aim of each show.
