My guest today is Steve Ware. Here’s part of his story
When Steve Ware burned out at IBM ten years ago, the last thing on his mind was learning mindfulness. That seemed soft, pointless, and not something a stressed-out employee at one of the world’s largest companies could ever benefit from.
But a suggestion from one of his colleagues to look into the topic changed the course of his life radically. It transformed his life, his world, and the way everything felt.
He kept this all a secret, though, because he thought it made him vulnerable, weak, and a failure.
Two months later, things got interesting. Colleagues forced him to tell them why he was so much calmer, centered, and peaceful.
What started out as a personal journey of discovery quickly changed into something that would transform the lives of hundreds of IBMers all over the planet.
Steve Ware’s story of transition is similar to what I find in other mid-career professionals.
