Victory Ruins
The Eddy Network conversation with Troop Brenegar about his first novel of a young rural man's love of his family's farm, and the effect that war had upon him.
In my family, history matters. My parents’ ancestors come from Scotland, Germany, Moravia, and most likely England. Those who came before us live through the stories that were told when I was a child. I’ve passed that on to my children.
Troop is my oldest son. He has taken his love of history and turned his focus to writing novels. His first, Victory Ruins: A Novel has just been released. Recently, I recorded a conversation with him. I hope you find it enjoyable.
As you see, the themes that Troop touches on are similar to those that I have written about in the Background Series: Spectacle of the Real. To know your history is to know who you are and who you don’t want to become.
Victory Ruins is a picture of a time that has faded in memory. To recognize this is to possibly see what has been lost.
You can find Troop at his website - troopbrenegar.com, on Twitter and Gab. You can reach him directly at info@troopbrenegar.com.
Congratulations on this literary milestone, Troop (and Dad)!
I look forward to purchasing a copy when the paperback price comes down. What’s going on there? Can’t quite pony up $40 for one. Is inflation that bad now (snark)?
